Quick answer: install an IPTV player (or the TeveUK premium app) on your Firestick, enter the login details from your welcome email and your channels load in a minute or two. A Fire TV Stick 4K or 4K Max on 5 GHz Wi-Fi or ethernet gives the best results.
Why Firestick is the easiest way to watch IPTV
Amazon’s Fire TV Stick is the most common streaming device in UK homes for good reason: it plugs into any TV with an HDMI port, it’s inexpensive, and it runs the same IPTV player apps you’d use on an Android TV box. If your Smart TV doesn’t have a suitable app, or its built-in software feels slow, a Firestick is usually the quickest fix.
Which Firestick should you use?
Fire TV Stick 4K / 4K Max
The best choice for IPTV. Faster processors, more memory and support for 4K streams. The newer 4K Max models also support faster Wi-Fi standards.
Fire TV Stick / Lite
Fine for HD viewing on a smaller TV. Older and Lite models can feel sluggish when loading large channel lists or programme guides.
Before you start
- Your TeveUK login details (sent by email after you order)
- A Firestick connected to your TV and signed in to an Amazon account
- A stable broadband connection — ideally 10 Mbps or more for HD and 25 Mbps or more for 4K (see our IPTV speed guide)
Option 1: install a player from the Amazon Appstore
- From the Fire TV home screen, open Find and select Search.
- Search for an IPTV player such as IPTV Smarters, IBO Player or HOT Player. App availability changes from time to time, so if one isn’t listed, try another.
- Select the app and choose Get or Download.
- Open the app and choose your login method. Enter the server URL, username and password from your welcome email, or follow the activation steps the player shows.
- Wait a minute while your channel list and programme guide load for the first time.
Option 2: install the TeveUK premium app
Every plan includes our premium app for Firestick and Android. Because it’s installed from outside the Amazon Appstore, you’ll need to allow it once:
- Go to Settings > My Fire TV. If you don’t see Developer Options, open About and select your device name seven times to reveal it.
- Open Developer Options and turn on Install unknown apps for the app you’ll use to download (for example, Downloader from the Amazon Appstore).
- Open that app and enter the download link from your welcome email.
- Install the app, open it and sign in with your TeveUK details.
Only install apps from links we send you directly. Apps from unknown websites can carry malware.
Tips for smooth playback on Firestick
- Use a wired connection if you can. Amazon sells an ethernet adapter for Fire TV that plugs into the power cable. It’s the single biggest improvement for buffering.
- Use 5 GHz Wi-Fi. If your router broadcasts both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, connect to 5 GHz when the router is in the same or a neighbouring room.
- Clear the app cache. Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications, select your player and choose Clear cache.
- Restart weekly. Hold Select and Play/Pause together for five seconds to restart the stick.
- Free up storage. Uninstall apps you no longer use. Firesticks slow down noticeably when storage is almost full.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use IPTV on any Firestick?
Yes, IPTV player apps run on all current Fire TV Stick models. For 4K content and the smoothest experience with large channel lists, a Fire TV Stick 4K or 4K Max is recommended.
Is it safe to enable “Install unknown apps”?
The setting itself is safe and is designed for installing apps from outside the Appstore. The risk comes from what you install, so only use download links sent to you by your provider.
Can I use one TeveUK plan on a Firestick and my phone?
Yes. You can install the app on as many devices as you like. Your plan sets how many can stream at the same time: 1, 2, 3 or 4 depending on what you choose.
Why does my Firestick buffer when other apps work fine?
Live TV streams are less forgiving than on-demand apps, which download ahead. Try a wired connection or 5 GHz Wi-Fi and clear the player’s cache. If it continues, message our support team with the channel and time.
