Quick answer: install an IPTV player from Google Play (or the TeveUK premium app), enter your login details and your channels load straight away. A wired connection and hardware decoding give the smoothest playback.
Which devices run Android TV?
Android TV and its newer version, Google TV, run on a wide range of hardware in UK homes:
- Smart TVs from Sony, Philips, TCL, Hisense and others
- Google TV Streamer and Chromecast with Google TV
- Nvidia Shield TV
- Dedicated IPTV boxes such as Formuler and MAG-style Android boxes
- Generic Android TV boxes
Because these devices use Google Play, setup is usually quick, and every TeveUK plan includes our premium app for Android.
Install from Google Play
- Open the Google Play Store (on Google TV, open Apps and search).
- Search for an IPTV player such as IPTV Smarters, IBO Player or HOT Player and select Install.
- Open the app and choose your login type: Xtream Codes (server URL, username and password) or the method the player shows.
- Enter the details from your TeveUK welcome email and wait for the channel list to load.
Install the TeveUK premium app
- Install Downloader (or a similar file manager) from Google Play.
- Go to Settings > Apps > Security & restrictions (the wording varies by device) and allow Unknown sources for Downloader. On Google TV you may first need to enable developer options by selecting Settings > System > About > Android TV OS build seven times.
- Open Downloader, enter the link from your welcome email, then install and open the app.
- Sign in with your TeveUK details.
Formuler and dedicated IPTV boxes
Formuler boxes use their own MyTVOnline app. Add a new portal or Xtream connection in the app and enter the details we send you. If you’re not sure which login type your box needs, send us the model name and we’ll tell you exactly what to enter.
Getting the best performance
- Connect via ethernet where possible. Most Android TV boxes and the Nvidia Shield have a network port.
- Enable hardware decoding in your player’s settings if streams stutter. Switch to software decoding if you see a black screen with sound.
- Keep apps updated through Google Play, and clear the player’s cache in Settings > Apps if menus become slow.
- Avoid unbranded “fully loaded” boxes. They often run outdated software and come with pre-installed apps of unknown origin.
What it costs
Prices for one device. Plans for 2, 3 or 4 devices are on the full price list.
Frequently asked questions
Is Android TV the same as Google TV?
Google TV is the newer interface built on top of Android TV. IPTV apps work on both, though some settings menus are in different places.
Can I use TeveUK on an Nvidia Shield?
Yes. The Nvidia Shield runs Android TV and is one of the most capable IPTV devices available, with ethernet and strong 4K decoding.
Do I need a special IPTV box?
No. Any Android TV or Google TV device can run IPTV players. Dedicated boxes such as Formuler are an option, not a requirement.
